Pedal to Properties, Boulder Real Estate

Pedal To Properties’ 18 agents work together to take care of clients. This means, if you work with Pedal to Properties, the whole office has your back.

A Full Service Real Estate Firm with a Boulder Vibe.

It’s no secret that Boulder is a “biking” town. A fair share of the population relies on pedal power to go to work, run errands or enjoy an epic ride. Bikes are also an excellent way to slow down and connect with the rhythms of a neighborhood.

“That was the inspiration behind the Pedal To Properties brand when the agency was founded in 2006,” says Owner Tim Shea. “Of course, you don’t actually have to ride bikes around town to see our home listings,” he laughs. “We use cars, too.”

Actually, the bike is a fitting metaphor for the company’s culture and values. “It represents the healthy lifestyle that we aspire to,” Shea explains. “As a group, our eighteen agents are pretty active. We work hard, and we believe it’s important to also set aside time for non-work passions. In some offices, real estate can get rather competitive, even among people in the same office.

But our culture at Pedal To Properties means that we take care of each other’s clients as well as our own. This means, if you work with Pedal To Properties, the whole office has your back. That goes for both our clients and our agents.”

A commitment to “green” practices takes many forms. Agents are encouraged to earn eco-focused real estate credentials such as EcoBroker and the National Association of Realtors Green designation. The company offers cruiser bikes to local hotels for guests to use so they can get to know Boulder by bike. They also build relationships with local “green-focused” vendors, such as solar panel installers to architects, to support consumers. Community involvement includes being a proud title sponsor of Boulder’s Bike to Work Day.

Pedal To Properties aims to be an employer of choice by offering its staff a creative and innovative place to work, with both corporate and individual opportunities to excel. Management listens and seeks to help all employees reach their personal and professional goals.

Pedal to Properties is an innovative company has received national attention from the likes of the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine and ABC News.

The innovative company has received national attention from the likes of the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine and ABC News. While being a full-service agency complete with all the traditional real estate services a buyer or seller expects, the idea of using a bike as the vehicle of choice wasn’t as whimsical as it may seem.

Urban buyers have shown strong interest in shorter commutes between their homes and city amenities. The trend towards a sharing economy is also making inroads into car ownership, with many trading their auto keys for an Uber app.

Pedal To Properties has recently partnered with real estate juggernaut Zillow to expand their reach to buyers and sellers. “A lot of Realtors see Zillow as a disruptive force in real estate, and they aren’t sure what to do about that,” says Tim Shea. “But as a forward-looking company, we have decided to just embrace them. They are becoming a major player in our market and I want to leverage what Zillow brings to create an advantage for our agents. This is in line with other decisions we have made to be on the cutting edge of how real estate is done today.”

With this increased exposure, Shea says he hopes to promote the Pedal To Properties brand to even more buyers and sellers. He is also seeing a lot of interest in opening more Pedal To Properties offices in other communities similar to Boulder. “We see a lot of opportunity for company growth in this area,” he says.

WHAT THEY SAY:

“We had an instant connection our Pedal To Properties Realtor. We went out to his Toyota SUV and noticed he had very nice bikes on a nice rack, everything spic and span, much attention to details. We pulled up to a house, and he asked if we’d like to ride the bikes around the neighborhood. Riding on the bikes makes it an easier, friendlier process. The different feeling you get about a neighborhood by being in it, seeing it – you get a more intimate perspective of your surroundings.” – Bill Cluzel, buyer, Boulder

“We recently bought a home for our daughter in Longmont. Our agent made this a very easy process, from the showings to the closing. He made sure to meet all of our needs, mine, my husband’s and my daughter.” – Yazmen, Buyer, Longmont

“Our Realtor was incredible to deal with in the sale of our home and purchase of a new one. He was very patient, friendly and professional through the entire process even as we bombarded him with endless questions and showings. He made us feel at ease during a typically stressful time. We would highly recommend P2P to anyone buying or selling a home. You will be in great hands and we know you will feel more relaxed about this life changing process.” – Bob, buyer and seller, Boulder
