LIV Sotheby’s International Realty’s merger with Bodin Realty International creates a powerful partnership
BOULDER – LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (LIV SIR) has announced that the brokers and staff at Bodin Realty International have joined LIV SIR to better serve the Boulder area luxury home market.
The combined agencies will operate under the LIV Sotheby’s International Realty name. The Bodin Realty International office at Twenty Ninth Street becomes the second LIV SIR office location in Boulder. The two offices are now home to 33 brokers.
In effect, this dynamic new partnership magically spans both space and time, by combining the exceptional global reach of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand with a 50-year history of local real estate expertise.
“I am honored that Jim Bodin has chosen to entrust LIV Sotheby’s International Realty with the continuation of his great legacy of real estate brokerage at the highest level of professionalism,” says David Carner, LIV SIR vice president and managing broker.
“This couldn’t be a better fit for our brokers and our clients,” says Jim Bodin, president of Bodin Realty International. “I have admired and respected the Sotheby’s International Realty brand and LIV Sotheby’s International Realty people in Boulder and in Denver. This couldn’t be a better fit for our brokers and our clients.”
The new partnership won’t be the first collaboration between Carner and Bodin. David Carner began his real estate career at Coldwell Banker Bodin Realty in 1992. He went on to manage The Bodin Team for six years, and the men have enjoyed a close working relationship for more than two decades. “Jim has been a personal role model for doing business right, and the company he has built reflects those values.”
Both Carner and Bodin cite their similar client-facing business cultures and aspirations to serve the Boulder luxury market as important factors in the new partnership. This joining of skills and resources positions LIV SIR for extraordinary reach and effectiveness.

The dynamic new partnership between LIV Sotheby’s International Realty and Bodin Realty International combines the exceptional global reach of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand with a 50-year history of local real estate expertise.
“We provide an elite level of services, without being elitist,” Carner explains, noting that LIV SIR lists homes in all price ranges. “LIV Sotheby’s International Realty defines our point of difference by delivering a superior level of service to our clients and creating consistency through our marketing and branding initiatives.”
LIV Sotheby’s International Realty has earned Best Digital Marketing Strategy honors for its engaging presentation of the information that buyers and sellers are seeking. This information includes local market conditions and promotes the desirable Colorado lifestyle. LIV SIR incorporates video and market data in an engaging way and distributes it through its worldwide network and social media platforms. The Sotheby’s stamp of approval has become a desirable imprimatur to many of today’s luxury buyers.
The Boulder area is getting attention from a more global set of homebuyers, thanks to its highly desirable lifestyle and natural amenities. The recent market performance of local real estate has heads turning, too.
“Housing prices are going up, and that gets a lot of attention, of course,” Carner says. But he also sees another kind of change in Boulder’s real estate market. “An evolution is happening… the housing market is becoming more ‘cosmopolitan’ in terms of the types of new residential construction, and also the buyers who are interested in this area.”

Each Sotheby’s International Realty office worldwide features an “e-gallery” of digital screens that show listings from all over the world. This global feed includes local luxury home listings, as well. This is the first time that local home sellers have had the opportunity to present their property listing on such a global scale. Inquiries from international buyers in locations like London, Hong Kong or Dubai are on
the increase.
The traditional luxury home market, consisting of local or regional buyers, is still strong. Many owners in Boulder also have a second vacation home, and LIV SIR is well located to serve these clients, with 12 offices in metropolitan Denver, Boulder, Evergreen, Castle Pines Village, and the resort communities of Breckenridge, Vail, and Beaver Creek.
Adding a second LIV SIR office provides a strategic “bookend” location in Boulder, Carner says. “Our downtown Walnut Street office serves Boulder’s traditional core business area, with its many employers and businesses. And with the high visibility, retail-level Twenty Ninth Street office, we are positioned to serve the new Google campus area and the developing transportation hub.”
LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is the exclusive Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate in Boulder and the exclusive Board of Regent for the Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate and the luxuryrealestate.com international network and the Cartus broker network, a network of the most respected brokerages in the United States specializing in corporate relocation.
