LONGMONT – Barb Bashor, a Realtor with WK Real Estate, delivered the opening remarks at the Colorado Women’s Education Foundation (CWEF) scholarship fundraising event, “A Turning Point: Educating Colorado Women,” held at the Xilinx Retreat Center in Longmont on Saturday, March 18.

Bashor, who has assisted clients with real estate sales and purchases throughout Boulder County for nearly 25 years, is also passionate about supporting philanthropic community efforts, such as the CWEF. For over 40 years, CWEF has fulfilled its mission to “invest in women who are transforming their lives through education … for themselves, their families, and their communities” by providing scholarships to more than 500 Colorado residents.

“I feel incredibly honored to open this event,” Bashor shares. “I’m a strong proponent of educating and empowering women, so this cause is very near and dear to my heart.” Bashor welcomed attendees to Saturday’s fundraising event, sharing her personal story, explaining how donations will elevate women’s lives through the gift of education, and introducing the evening’s keynote speaker, award-winning poet and non-fiction author Carol Grever. CWEF is accepting scholarship applications through May 31
