BOULDER – Rich Alpers, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, is sponsoring the Heatherwood Home Runners, an adult coed Boulder Recreation softball league team. “I am sponsoring this team because Heatherwood is the neighborhood I live and work in and wanted to support my community in a fun way,” said Alpers, who, as a sponsor, paid for the Heatherwood Home Runners’ T-shirts.
The team’s first spring softball game was a double-header at the Mapleton Fields in Boulder on March 15, with Alpers coaching first base. “The Heatherwood Home Runners played The Meatballs in a hard-fought 12-1 loss,” joked Alpers.
The Heatherwood Home Runners will next square off against Just A Bunch of Axels. The team will also play
Tequila Mockingbird on May 29 and the Laser Vikings on April 5. The Heatherwood Home Runners will also have a rematch against the The Meatballs on April 5.
In addition to sponsoring the Heatherwood Home Runners, Alpers, whose motto is “No hype, no pressure, just straight talk,” recently celebrated his twenty-fifth anniversary as a Realtor and also gives back to Make-a-Wish America. Throughout 2017 he will be donating $150 to Make-A-Wish America after each real estate closing. The vision of Make-a-Wish America is to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.
