BOULDER – As summer starts to turn into fall, let’s take a look at the current data (as of August 10) for single family homes in Boulder County compared to this time last year.
Boulder County’s inventory has been continually drained for some time, and when you compare the year-to-date (YTD) data, we still see a full 10% drop in the number of Total Active Residential Listings. That said, there was a slight bump in inventory from June to July of this year so maybe this is a sign of things to come.
A squeeze on inventory naturally drives already record-high prices even higher with the current Average Sales Price of a single family home in Boulder County hovering around $660,000. This is a nearly $80,000 increase in price versus this time in 2015.
It’s important to take a macro view of our real estate market. This is why RE/MAX of Boulder Managing Broker, DB Wilson, highlights a number of data fields in order to help us to understand and explain the current conditions as accurately as a possible.
