Boulder-based builder Flatirons Homes, Inc. is finishing up development of the townhome-style condominiums at Parkside at Quail Ridge, a leafy new community in south Longmont near Highway 287. Made up of 93 townhome-style condominiums and 36 single family homes, the convenient location of Parkside at Quail Ridge is hard to beat – just minutes from Boulder, I-25 and E-470. There are also RTD stops within the community. The popular Longmont Recreation Center and Longmont Museum and Cultural Center are one block away and Longmont’s Downtown Creative District offers retail and shopping within a five-minute drive or quick bus ride from your front door. The centrally-located community is also zoned for the award-winning St. Vrain Valley School District. In fact, the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools is just down the road.

The homes and condominiums at Parkside are focused around simplified living, energy-efficiency and all the benefits of outdoor activity, with none of the hassle. “Parkside at Quail Ridge is great for young families and active home owners,” says Cauley Kim, sales manager for Flatirons Homes, Inc. “Having an expansive green space in the center of the community means there is lot of room to play and run around, but it doesn’t add yard work to your list of chores. It’s a great and friendly place to live.”

Parkside condominiums are available in both two-story and ranch models. There is even a fully ADA-compliant unit available. Each bedroom in the condominiums has its own bathroom, perfect for individuals looking for a home that they could share with a roommate. The idea of a condominium often leaves buyers nervous about neighborly noise, a concern that Flatirons Homes erases with a simple solution: the ranch-style condominiums are built side-by-side, which means no neighbors above or below. Additionally, all ranch-style condominiums are end units, leaving just one shared wall with neighbors. Every ranch-style condominium at Parkside also features a single-car garage.

The condominiums at Parkside appeal to a wide variety of people, from first-time homebuyers to veteran property owners who are tired of the endless demands of home maintenance. Parkside offers affordability in the competitive climate of Boulder County, and also allows homeowners to benefit from the utility savings of an energy-efficient home. All homes are Energy Star certified and come with a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) certificate that includes the home’s energy rating. Features like furnaces, windows, fiber cement lap siding, roofs and appliances are built to be as energy efficient as possible. The energy-efficient insulation methods also have the added bonus of reducing noise pollution and allowing greater temperature control.

Available in three plans – Jade, Sage and Pine – the condominiums at Parkside are far from cookie-cutter. The two-story Jade plan features luxurious touches like 9-foot ceilings on both levels and a gas fireplace in the living room. The Sage, also a two-story plan, offers a large, walk-in closet in the master suite. The Pine is a ranch-style end unit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All two-story units feature patios and unfinished basements.

The simplified, lower-maintenance lifestyle at Parkside at Quail Ridge will also appeal to those who would rather spend their days outdoors than in. The aptly-named community is centered around a five-acre, landscaped park. In addition to the neighborhood’s impressive park, Parkside residents are located right next to nine acres of open space, a portion of which will eventually be developed into a city park with access to a trail system. The master plan for Wertman Nieghborhood Park currently includes wildflower gardens, pickleball courts, picnic areas, disc golf holes, an off-leash dog area, slackline and hammock posts, playgrounds and trails, along with plenty of open lawn space for spreading out a picnic blanket or throwing a frisbee. All streets in the Parkside at Quail Ridge community lead to this expansive outdoor gem.

Parkside at Quail Ridge presents an economic living option for active families and individuals. The condominiums will be ready in December of 2019 and January of 2020. As incentive for the closeout of the condominiums, Flatirons Homes has outfitted all the units with upgraded appliances, granite counter tops in the kitchen and baths, undermount sinks, hard surface flooring on the entire main floor, and tile floors in the bathrooms – a total of about $10,000 in upgrades for each unit. Flatirons Homes also continues to work on the remaining 15 single family homes in Parkside at Quail Ridge, many of which back up to the park or open space.

“I really love working with all the homeowners at Parkside,” says Kim. “I want our clients not only to enjoy their home but also the experience of buying it.” Condominiums start at Parkside at Quail Ridge start at $339,900, while single family homes start at $449,900. As one of the least expensive new construction options in Boulder County, units and homes at this development are likely to go fast.
