Boulder Creek Neighborhoods invites you to be Lifefull® in Longmont in low-maintenance townhomes

This past weekend, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods unveiled two new low-maintenance model homes: the yourHouse 25 and yourHouse 26, at their Denio West community in Longmont. Come and celebrate a low-maintenance way of living at Denio West – where homebuyers can pursue the active lifestyle of their dreams in a new, low-maintenance neighborhood.

The low-maintenance lifestyle is one Mark and Karen Wissell embraced last month when they moved into their Boulder Creek townhome. “We’re excited to have more freedom and more time to explore the area,” Karen said. “We want to push further west, further east and discover places we’ve never been. We want to travel more and have more time to kayak, hike and bike.”  Boulder Creek prides themselves on providing this low-maintenance lifestyle to homeowners, so much so they’ve coined a term for the idea:  “Lifefullness®.”  What’s Lifefullness?  Community Sales Manager Karen Sanders says, “Lifefullness is the ability to get out and live your life fully, doing whatever it is you love the most.”

A variety of floorplans

Mark and Karen relocated to Colorado from Wisconsin about four years ago, yet took several years to study the market and envision what they wanted in a home before purchasing their Denio West yourHouse. “We researched the area, as we were open to a commute and looked for homes from Fort Collins to Denver, but we kept going back to Boulder Creek Neighborhoods and Longmont,” Mark said. The Wissell’s recent move was from a condo on the east side of Longmont to Denio West on, not surprisingly, the west side of the city.

As a master craftsman and director of a custom manufacturing company, Mark kept an expert eye on his Denio West townhome throughout the building process. “We saw the quality of the work done by Boulder Creek Neighborhoods, and we recognized that regionally they are one of the better quality lifestyle builders,” Mark said.

Mark and Karen said the open-concept and of their yourHouse 26 floorplan and the vibrant Longmont location make Denio West feel like home. Karen said she loves the natural light in their townhome, while Mark valued the flexibility of the buying process: The Wissells could choose either an extra bedroom or a conditioned storage space. They preferred the third bedroom, which serves as Mark’s office, plus a loft. “We wanted more room for our friends coming to visit us in Colorado, and this home already has a lot more storage than we’re used to,” Karen said.

The Wissell’s yourHouse 26 is one of three townhomes offered at Denio West – including two main-floor master layouts and one traditional two-story design. Each of the three yourHouse floorplans range from 1,950 to 2,320 square feet and include a two-car garage and fireplace.

“People love the spacious layouts,” says Sanders, “and regularly comment on how open the floorplans are. They really live more like a single family home.”

“Our new models allow our clients to visualize the perfect space for them,” continues Sanders. Indeed, the grand opening will showcase two floorplans:  the two-story yourHouse 26, and the main floor master yourHouse 25.

The yourHouse 25 model, offers accessible living with the daily essentials all on the main floor.  A cozy loft and two additional bedrooms upstairs complement the spacious main floor. A wide front porch perfectly fits a swing or set of chairs and potted plants. “Main floor living is in high demand in Longmont,” says Sanders. She should know – as she also manages the sales of the Denio West patio homes in the same neighborhood. After selling through the first 33 quickly, Denio has only seven patio homes remaining.

Also opening this past weekend was the two-story yourHouse 26, much like the Wissell’s home.  Sanders speaks to the details, “The yourHouse 26 offers many ways to configure the home. Four bedrooms, three bedrooms, a loft, downstairs storage – it really is a flexible floorplan.”  With up to 2,300 square feet, a low-maintenance lifestyle, and an in-demand Longmont location, it’s easy to understand what brought the Wissell’s to Denio West.

Low-maintenance equals freedom

For Mark and Karen, “the low-maintenance aspect was really important,” she said. “We’d like to do the 50 states tour and visit the national parks. Not having to mow the lawn or worry about those kinds of things mean we can lock the door and travel.”

Since Mark works remotely and Karen, a licensed massage therapist and a branch office administrator at Edward Jones, fills in at her accounting position as needed, the only thing holding them back from long weekends in the mountains and frequent domestic and international travel, was home maintenance. “We spent a lot of time on yard work when we lived in Wisconsin, where we had a home with a large yard,” Karen said. Mark, who enjoys riding his motorcycle and exploring off-road trails on 4×4 vehicles, added, “Those who are outdoor oriented, like us, want to be able to get out without thinking about lawn care needs to be done at home.”  Indeed, yourHouse townhomes free residents to savor weekends without weeding, winters without significant snow shoveling and summers without mulching, sprinkler maintenance or mowing.

An ideal city location on the cusp of outdoor adventure

“We are looking to plant roots and hope to build relationships in our new community,” Karen said. “Everyone we have met has been really friendly and helpful.” Karen’s move to Colorado was her first visit to the state, and she said she’s eager to welcome others. The couple hopes to start an informal “neighborhood get together, maybe hanging out weekly in someone’s front yard,” Mark said, and Karen said she’d like to connect neighbors to share skills and experiences.

The couple intentionally chose Longmont as home, thanks to the community’s dynamic cultural atmosphere, many festivals, gallery events, thriving downtown, expansive Farmers’ Market and proximity to a plethora of outdoor adventures. “We are pretty happy about NextLight, too,” Karen said with a laugh, “having lived out in the country for some time without internet.”  Mark and Karen enjoy walking and biking the nearby trail around Golden Ponds Park and noted that shopping, restaurants, breweries and the Twin Peaks Golf Course are only minutes from their front door. “And the climate here is great,” Karen said.

Denio West yourHouse townhomes are available in the high $300s to the low $500s. Several quick move in homes are available to tour, in addition to the new model homes. For more information, call 720.961.2959 or visit DenioWest.com
