New choices for indoor luxury with townhomes, condos and more

You might think that with such amazing outdoor amenities, the indoor spaces at The Lakes would seem lacking – but that’s not the case. Homebuilders at The Lakes is committed to bringing the beauty, comfort, and peace of the natural world into the home space. The Lakes has three builders that offer a variety of new condominium homes, townhomes and single-family homes, all of which embody the spirit of a community that appreciates and celebrates the outdoors.

Landmark Homes has launched the new Discovery Collection, featuring condominium homes starting in the low $300s. Four new models will open in June. These homes offer all the benefits and amenities of The Lakes at Centerra but with a low-maintenance lifestyle. Between the Cascade plan at 1,264 square feet and the Timberline with 1,567 square feet, the four floor plans offer plenty of variety, with the option for single-floor or two-story living, two or three bedrooms, and even the choice of one- or two-car attached garages.

Landmark Homes also recently launched the Shores Collection of luxury townhomes from the $300s to $400s, with models opening late this year. Positioned along Houts Reservoir, each home in the Shores Collection has views of the Reservoir or open space. Their luxury design makes them feel quite unlike the typical townhome, with private parking areas and spacious layouts that lend an upscale, modern vibe. The collection also features the community’s first ranch townhome, complete with a finished basement. From just under 2,000 square feet to almost 3,000 square feet, the four plans in the Shores Collection offer high-end finishes and unbeatable views. The only hard part of living in these townhomes is deciding whether to spend your time outside or in!

KB Home offers a selection of spacious single-family homes, with eight floor plan options from a 1,532-square-foot ranch to a 2,583-square-foot two-story home. KB Home designs start in the low $400s. Right now, there is limited availability for single-family homes, but more home sites will become available later this year.

Centered around nature

Home to more than 150 different species of birds, mammals, reptiles and fish, The Lakes at Centerra is Colorado’s only Certified Community Wildlife Habitat. This hard-won designation is provided exclusively by the National Wildlife Federation, and it’s not just a label: The Lakes at Centerra lives up to this core value, working to reinvigorate the natural environment and inviting wildlife to flourish with native plantings and extensive green space.

The Lakes also boasts a unique amenity: an on-site environmental nonprofit, the High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC). In addition to an heirloom fruit orchard, community garden, and the kid-focused “Wild Zone” that teaches lessons about nature, independence and self-expression. HPEC also hosts a variety of community events throughout the year. Now through September 6, both residents and the public can participate in the nonprofit’s annual native plant sale. Customers can purchase the plants online and do contact-free pick-up at the Center. Native plants help conserve water and support wildlife, including pollinators. The sale features beautiful blooms like Royal Catchfly, Harebell, and Poppy Mallow, as well as grasses like Yellow Indian Grass, Switchgrass, and Big Bluestem. Find details about each plant and make your purchase at suburbitat.org.

HPEC also hosts monthly bird-watching tours that are open to the public. Led by Scott Rashid, Director of the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute, and seasoned birder Sheila Webber of the Fort Collins Audubon Society, this immersive nature experience is limited to about ten people to ensure a peaceful and educational program.
