Main-floor living, easyHouse® patio homes coming soon to Erie

Buying a home doesn’t have to feel arduous. While knock-out bidding wars and compromising waivers might be the norm in today’s constrained market, smart home buyers are finding another way to achieve ownership – a new home. A new, personalized build is a fantastic opportunity for savvy buyers to land the home they love – and if combined with the right price point and desirable location, it can be an unexpected dream come true.
This month, the Louisville-based lifestyle builder Boulder Creek Neighborhoods is unveiling one of their most anticipated neighborhoods yet: West Edge at Colliers Hill in Erie. In a celebration of what Boulder Creek calls “lifefullness,” or “living the life you always wanted empowered by an efficient, intuitive and beautiful home,” West Edge brings a relaxed, lower-maintenance lifestyle to the highly popular master-planned community of Colliers Hill, said Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ chief revenue officer Jessica Champlin.
Priority list sales underway now
While sales for West Edge at Colliers Hill will open on March 26, a priority list is already underway; nearly 150 interested home buyers attended a virtual informational meeting last week, and an exclusive “priority list” meeting is scheduled for March 23. Construction began earlier this year, and the first model homes are expected to open this fall. “For home buyers seeking a lifestyle centered on what’s important to you, this is the perfect opportunity at the perfect time,” Champlin said.
“We are helping buyers who want a lower-maintenance lifestyle to take advantage of the beauty, amenities and convenience of Colliers Hill and of Erie as a whole,” she continued, adding, “When we first considered building in Colliers Hill, we had to ask, ‘Is this a good fit for us?’ Because we’re about living a lower-maintenance lifestyle, and we wanted to know ‘Is this what Colliers Hill needs?’ And the answer that came back was ‘Absolutely we belong here.’”
That lower-maintenance lifestyle is epitomized by freedom from select, and time-consuming, exterior home maintenance. Outdoor chores such as snow shoveling and front yard mowing are overseen by the neighborhood lifestyle associations – freeing young professionals, families and retirees to pursue their passions, from weekends in the mountains to afternoons at the many neighborhood pocket parks.

Efficient, easy-living floor plans
West Edge will count 53 homes at build-out, all of which feature Boulder Creek’s beloved easyHouse floor plans. These floor plans, organized into the Ridge and Peak series, feature ranch-style, single-family, patio homes meticulously designed to capture light, make the most of a backyard waiting to be personalized, and perhaps best of all, adhere to today’s energy-saving construction techniques. As those who know the Boulder Creek neighborhood Brennan by the Lake, another Erie treasure, can attest, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ homes exude craftsmanship, with the builder employing a construction approach to craft durable, energy-efficient homes. These practices, along with Energy Star-rated appliances, are intended to minimize the overall cost of ownership as compared to many older homes on the market today.
The two easyHouse series offer multiple options to a variety of potential homeowners., The three ranch-style floor plans in the Ridge series will number 1,600 to 2,200 square feet, with optional three-car garages and optional finished lower levels. Inspired by Boulder Creek’s cottage-and-craftsman Villas at Calmante in Superior, and at a slightly higher price point, Peak series will count 2,800 to 3,500 square feet and include a three-car garage, and a finished lower level with an extra bedroom, bathroom and a recreation room – ideal for relaxed family hangouts and overnight guests. All homes will feature patios or decks, depending on the lay of the land.
Following Boulder Creek Neighborhoods’ long-standing commitment to accessible design, West Edge floor plans prioritize main-floor living, a favorite of those who wish to skip stairs for health reasons as well as those who simply value a streamlined, comfortably modern home. Hallways are wide, bathrooms are spacious and the laundry room is only a few steps from the primary suite.
For those who are passionate about cooking or hosting family and friends, the Peak series’ optional entertainer’s kitchen is an obvious win. Luxury appliances by Thermador deliver style and excellence, and the built-in refrigerator, floor-to-ceiling high-end cabinetry, two dishwashers, a generous island and a butler’s pantry round out the gorgeous, hard-working space.
Unique location with expansive western exposure
The outdoor appeal of the Peak series is especially remarkable, as these homes will crown the west side of the Colliers Hill community and offer expansive western exposure. “These are truly one-of-a-kind lots that sit above Old Town Erie with lots of exposure to Longs and Mount Evans,” said Brian Fink, Boulder Creek vice president of sales. “Plus, no homes will be built behind these as they abut open space.”
Although the lifestyle association will maintain the front lawns, the backyard can be tailored by homeowners to make the most of that western exposure. In response to feedback from other Boulder Creek communities, the backyard can be fenced and has plenty of space for a homeowner’s outdoor living dreams. Homeowners may finish the yard as desired, with ideas including a water-wise Zen getaway, a vegetable garden or a grassy nook for the dog to romp. An optional front courtyard on specific floor plans is a peaceful setting for cocktails or coffee with neighbors.
“West Edge is unique among our neighborhoods,” Champlin said. “It’s lower-maintenance and high on what you care about.” Some of the perks of building West Edge within Colliers Hill are the welcoming atmosphere and the abundant amenities already woven into the community. Reading groups, game clubs and walking buddies abound, and summer afternoons are always happier at the Colliers Hill outdoor pool, complemented by jet sprays and a waterfall. Along with the pool, the exclusive 6,500 square foot activity center, The Overlook, features a great room for events, a demonstration kitchen and an inviting porch from which to take in panoramic views of the Front Range.
Beyond Colliers Hill, Erie beckons as a great place to live, work and play. From the award-winning Erie Community Center and Erie Community Library to the plethora of terrific restaurants, breweries and shops downtown to easy access to Boulder, Denver and the Denver International Airport, Erie is a growing, vibrant community. Rated one of the safest cities in Colorado, Erie radiates a small-town vibe in an incredible location minutes from scenic trails, a championship golf course and dozens of summer and winter recreational activities.
The Ridge series at West Edge starts in the $700s and $800s, while the The Peak series is expected to start in the $900s and $1 million-plus. In response to today’s heated market and Boulder County’s limited housing inventory, the builder is currently forming a Priority List in advance of the official sales opening on
March 26.
