New community in Erie will offer new homes dedicated to low-maintenance living, and are designed to provide that special something…free time.
For months, folks traveling on Erie Parkway just west of County Line Road have been wondering what will be built at the construction site on the corner of Erie Parkway and 119th. Late last year, Boulder Creek Neighborhoods answered their question, announcing their newest low-maintenance neighborhood coming to Erie – Brennan by the Lake. Hot on the heels of the closeout of their low-maintenance townhomes in Erie Commons, Boulder Creek started development of this new Erie community in 2015.
Now, gearing up for an interest-list only launch event in March, the builder is releasing even more information. Brennan by the Lake will feature Boulder Creek’s popular ranch-style easyHouse home series. These low-maintenance patio homes have a proven track record in other communities, like Loveland’s Lakes at Centerra, and with all that Erie has to offer, Brennan by the Lake has the potential to be yet another award winning neighborhood for the builder.
What is an easyHouse? “EasyHouse is the epitome of a ranch patio home,” says Boulder Creek President, David Sinkey. “We’ve combined years of design expertise, as well as homeowner feedback and ideas into creating a home series that offers exactly what buyers are looking for in main-floor, low-maintenance living.”
Sinkey explains further, “easyHouse is a bit of a different animal in the world of new homes.” easyHouse offers a smaller square footage and a more efficient design than many typical ranch-style homes on the market today. Many features in the series are a direct result of ideas and feedback from potential easyHouse buyers.
The Louisville-based homebuilder takes a straightforward approach to determine what buyers most want in a new home. They ask. Listening is a core value at Boulder Creek, explains Sinkey, and his team looks for opportunities along the way to learn more about what homebuyers are seeking in a new home.
In November of last year, Boulder Creek hosted an event in Erie. The goal was simply to talk to interested buyers about the features that matter most to them in a new home. Over 50 people attended and offered their feedback on the builder’s lineup of easyHouse floorplans. Since then, Boulder Creek has been hard at work analyzing and implementing that feedback, getting ready for a planned springtime launch of Brennan by the Lake.
“We strive to build homes for the way people aspire to live,” says Sinkey. Of course, the homes at Brennan feature Boulder Creek’s signature style of low-maintenance living – meaning mowing the lawn and shoveling snow will be things of the past for buyers in this exciting neighborhood. And though Boulder Creek knows that leaving outdoor maintenance chores behind is often a big motivator, they also know that the home itself has to support the right lifestyle as well.
That’s why the homes in the easyHouse series pack a lot of punch in their 1,500 to 2,000 square foot size. Brennan offers homes with main floor studies and flex spaces, three car garages, and even options for upper level family rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. That’s a lot of flexibility in a single home series, and the builder wouldn’t have it any other way. Buyers appreciate it as well.
“We like the easyHouse concept,” Douglas DeNio said. His wife, Linda, followed up with, “These redefined the meaning of ‘patio home’ for me.”
The DeNios are big fans of their easyHouse that they purchased in Loveland at the Lakes at Centerra. Given Douglas’s area of expertise, that’s no small statement. He’s a retired engineer. Throughout the process, both he and Linda asked a lot of detailed questions, never once getting an answer that raised red flags. Instead, Linda said, “We swore we’d never [build] again, but this is different. They’ve done the hard part. We just do the fun stuff.”
Vi Schelhaas, another Boulder Creek buyer in Centerra, is familiar with Boulder Creek’s commitment to listening. When she first toured the model homes in Loveland’s easyHouse neighborhood, she loved the look and feel but felt the size wasn’t right for her. The models were simply more space than she needed.
Fortunately, she was invited to a Boulder Creek feedback event. She, along with other potential buyers, expressed their desire for something a little smaller, a little more “right sized.” A few months later, Boulder Creek introduced several new easyHouse designs in direct response to that feedback. These new easyHouse designs will also be offered at Brennan by the Lake.
The interior design elements of all easyHouse homes have been crafted to allow for flexibility and ease of use while still remaining stylish. For example, the countertops throughout the homes are slightly raised. The outlets on the wall are positioned higher, making them easier to reach. Doorways and hallways are wider set. There’s even extra space between the kitchen counter tops and the island. The idea here is to make your home a place where you are comfortable. The space is easy to move around in because it’s been designed with convenience in mind.
Finally, there’s the neighborhood, itself. Like all Boulder Creek neighborhoods, Brennan by the Lake will be a beautifully landscaped community when it’s complete, seamlessly blending the natural appeal of the area with streets and walkways. But there’s more.
Located just north of Thomas Reservoir, residents will be only minutes from a host of outdoor activities. There are scenic walking trails, picnic tables, fishing spots, parks and plenty of open space. Brennan will also offer easy access to the thriving community of downtown Erie, complete with a variety of dining and retail options. And Boulder is mere minutes away.
That’s what Boulder Creek aims for – homes and neighborhoods that actually enhance the lives of owners. With Brennan by the Lake underway, Erie residents will soon discover the Boulder Creek difference first hand.
