The holiday season has begun. Homeowners are unpacking their Christmas decorations and reaching for their ladders. Let the decorating begin.

If you’re thinking of decking the halls at your house, you don’t want to miss Palmer Flowers’ annual Holiday Open House this weekend, Nov. 3 and 4. The free event takes place at Palmer Flowers Fort Collins, 3710 Mitchell Drive, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. For many regular attendees, it’s the official starting point of the holiday season.

The Holiday Open House is a very social event, with 1,800 to two thousand people visiting over the weekend. Coffee, punch, baklava and other sweet treats are available to delight visitors.  Santa will also be stopping by, from noon to 2 p.m. to greet the kids and collect wish lists.

You’ll see a vast variety of unique Christmas décor that you won’t find anywhere else in northern Colorado. The Fort Collins shop

is packed fuller than Santa’s sack with décor and keepsakes from all over the world. The parade of décor ranges from arty ornaments to figurines, home decor, tabletop styles, silk flowers and much more. Just one piece, like a large accent light, can change the feel of an entire room. Palmer Flowers’ designers travel to two international industry shows each year to find thenewest styles in décor items. Every year brings a new treasure trove, and by the end of the first day, some items are sold out. It’s a good idea to get to the open house early if you want to get the best selection.

Walk through seven uniquely themed decorated vignettes that show off the amazing artistry of the designers. Using lighting, natural and manmade materials, and eye-catching décor, each area is transformed into a special place like no other.

Kids are invited to Santa’s Make Your Own Ornament workshop all day long on Saturday. It’s free, and you even get an ornament to take home.

“You really have to see this spectacle for yourself,” says Tim Jordan, president of Palmer Flowers. “We work on these displays for hours and hours… even through the night before the open house. You’ll discover items here you didn’t know we carry.”

Palmer Flowers is your premier source in northern Colorado for the finest artificial trees available. These are high quality products that bring the essence of their natural counterparts into your home, while letting the real trees stay in the ground. These trees measure from apartment-sized two feet to a majestic 12 feet tall. Each tree is pre-lit by a lighting designer for a stunning effect. You will save 20 percent off your purchase of any artificial Christmas trees during November.

Let Palmer Flowers decorate your home for the holidays

The designers at Palmer Flowers provide complete residential and commercial decoration services with a flourish. No job is too small, or too large. The installation crew has transformed some of the highest-visibility locations for the holidays, including banks, the Fort Collins Courthouse, and major auto showrooms.

It starts with a free in-home consultation to discuss your design ideas. A trip to the shop is the best way to choose the actual items that will be used. Then the designers get to work, and your home is transformed for the holidays. Bring on the guests, you’re ready to entertain! At the end of the season, the crew will come back and carefully re-pack your décor items. Then all you have to do is place your items put back into storage.
