Parkside is a new residential community located at popular Quail Ridge and built by Boulder-based Flatirons Homes, Inc. Situated on a 3.5-acre landscaped park, Parkside offers 36 new single-family homes and 93 townhome-style condominiums in single-level and two-story designs. These beautiful, energy-efficient homes are adjacent to manicured green space in a convenient south Longmont area – all at an entry-level price.
Parkside has already won two awards from the Flatirons Tour of Homes. In 2016 it received the Gold Award for the Best Starter Home, and in 2017 the award for the Best Value Home.
Five of the single-family homes already built in Phase 1 feature three or four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, an open floor plan, patio, attached two-car garage, and full, unfinished basement. The two and three-bedroom, two and two-and-a-half bath townhome-style condominiums present an open floor plan with outdoor living, single-car garage, and, in the two-story units, a full, unfinished basement. All the homes are green built and Energy Star certified.
Ideal location
Conveniently sited a few blocks from Highway 287, Parkside is 15 to 20 minutes from Boulder, with easy access to the surrounding communities, Denver International Airport, and Denver. Just one block away are the Longmont Recreation Center and the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center. Shopping is five minutes away. And Parkside is located in the desirable St. Vrain School District.
Phase 2 single-family homes
Later this year Flatirons Homes, Inc., will start construction on the remaining 31 of the planned 36 single-family homes. These plans will range in size from a two-bedroom, two-bath ranch floor plan to a four-bedroom two-and-a-half-bath, two-story floor plan. All of these homes will feature open concept, main-floor living, 42” kitchen cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, granite kitchen counter tops, and 2-car garages. The homes come fully landscaped with a sprinkler system.
“We built only five of the single-family homes in the first phase,” says Parkside Sales Manager Cauley Kim. “We will be building those plans as well as other new plans in Phase 2. The ranch plan is new, and we think it is an important addition to the variety of choices.”
Kim says that one-story single-family ranch-style homes are in high demand.
“Baby boomers are downsizing and looking for main-floor bedrooms. We do have a ranch condo floor plan, but this single-family floor plan will offer more space and a yard for those buyers who need a little more room and would still like to have some outside areas for gardening and entertaining.
“The single-family ranch floor plan is approximately 2,000 square feet. It will have a master suite, living, dining and kitchen on the main floor and a second bedroom, full bath and additional living area in the basement. It will also have a 2-car garage.”
Prices on all the single-family homes start in the low $400s.
Flatiron Homes, Inc.
The owners of Flatirons Homes, Inc., have built more than 400 homes in Boulder County. Parkside is their newest subdivision.
Sales Manager Kim describes two of the ways in which Parkside stands out. “I would say price is really where we stand out. Flatirons Homes, Inc., is really trying to keep prices down so there are still some affordable options for people in Boulder County.
“And, as a green builder, we distinguish ourselves from others,” she says. “All of the homes are ENERGY STAR certified and come with a HERS certificate that states the home’s energy rating. Our home buyers will enjoy pretty low utility bills.”
As Parkside residents Mark and Larissa Crawford point out, “It’s been a little over a year since we first moved in, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. Our condo is energy-efficient, and…we save a lot of money on our utilities. Not only has the energy-efficient construction saved us money, but the cheaper and superior gigabit Ethernet has cut down on time in our work (which I’ve been told equals money), as well as the ability to travel to any of our nearby locations for food or entertainment for little or no money.”
