Twenty-two homes, 14 builders, one showroom and even a house that was featured on Home & Garden Television.
If this gets your blood pumping, then the 2023 Northern Colorado Home Builders Association Parade of Homes, scheduled for this weekend and next, should be at the top of your to-do list. Homes will be available to visit Sept. 8-10 and 15-17 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
“Be sure to head out early to avoid the crowds and the heat,” said Kelly Schramm, executive officer for Northern Colorado Home Builders Association.
As has been the case since 2011, homes from Fort Collins to Berthoud and Greeley to Loveland will be featured, and this year the showroom at Hughes Kitchen & Bath in Fort Collins will be featured on both Fridays (Sept. 8 and 15).
One home featured on this year’s parade was even designed by HGTV’s Farmhouse Fixers stars Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin and was featured in the popular show Rock the Block.
“So, come on out and get inspired for your new home or to get ideas for your existing home,” Schramm said.
There’s no charge or tickets required for the event.
“The best way to enjoy the parade is to pick up a copy of the magazine at the Northern Colorado Home Builders Association’s office, located at 1907 N. Boise Ave. in Loveland or at any of the featured homes and showrooms in the parade,” Schramm said. “Also, you can look for a copy of the magazine inserted with the At Home section on Sept. 8 or by going online at nocohba.com/paradeofhomes. Copies are also available at any Northern Colorado FNBO Bank branch. Use the information you will find there and pick out which homes you want to see.”
Then it’s just a case of mapping out your plan and hitting the road. Twelve of the featured homes and condos are located in Fort Collins and Timnath while four are in Windsor and three in Berthoud. Greeley and Loveland also have one home each featured in the parade.
This year’s parade once again gives participants a chance to vote for their favorite homes and showrooms with the People’s Picks awards. Also, teams of professionals make up the Judging Team for the Association, reviewing each entry for the Golden Key and Smart Home awards.”
“Also in 2023, we are implementing a new award that we are excited about,” said Schramm. “This is the Builder Member Peer award. We will give our builder and remodeler members a chance to vote on their favorite Parade of Homes entry. This award gives our professional builders and remodelers a chance to judge these 21 homes in areas like craftsmanship, design and favorite features.”
FNBO Mortgage, meanwhile, is offering up another incentive to check out this year’s beautiful homes – a $1,000 pre-paid gift card. Each of the homes as well as the showroom will have a QR code to scan. Parade-goers can scan the codes at each of the different locations for a chance to win.
“The more homes and showrooms they visit, the more chances they will have to register and win!” Schramm said.
And if generating excitement for your new home, gleaning ideas for improving your existing living space, earning a chance to win $1,000 and voting for your favorite home isn’t enough, a portion of this year’s proceeds from the parade will be given to the Northern Colorado Home Builders Association Foundation.
The foundation’s mission statement “is to employ the talents, skills and generosity of our building industry members and associates and community friends to help our northern Colorado neighbors in need.”
One of their biggest yearly projects is Build a Bed, supporting the local chapter of the national organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The volunteers got together this year to make 54 beds for kids in northern Colorado who don’t have one. The foundation is always accepting help and donations to support this and other projects throughout the year.
The Northern Colorado Home Builders Association Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit and all donations are tax deductible.
So, if you have some free time this weekend or next, and you are looking at buying a new place or want some unique ideas on how to renovate your current space, don’t miss out on this year’s Northern Colorado Home Builders Association Parade of Homes.
