The principals of Flatirons Homes has been building single-family homes and townhome-style condominiums in Colorado for three decades. During that time the homebuilder has built some very intentional communities that homeowners love to call home. But more importantly the local business has built trust among its buyers – and residents.
If you want in on Flatirons Homes’ latest offerings, look no further than Longmont. ParkSide consists of 93 townhome-style condominiums and 36 single-family homes. The community, which lives up to its green name, currently has 15 single-family lots left, including premium lots that back to open space.
Premium single-family home lots at ParkSide
It makes sense that Flatirons Homes’ largest floor plans fit best on exclusive oversized lots that back to open space. In fact, the premium lots are about double the size any of the others in the development. It’s open space in your backyard!
For example, 1302 South Oak Court, which is under construction, features access to open space and big mountain views from a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath detached open-concept home. On the main floor there’s a large kitchen island and a gas fireplace, both perfect for entertaining.
Upstairs a large master suite comes with a five-piece bath, walk-in closet, and separate sitting area. Three additional bedrooms, a full guest bathroom, and laundry room are also on the second level. And a garden-level “daylight” basement offers an additional 760 square feet for future growth or a fifth bedroom. The premium ParkSide home is priced at $592,00.
Another option, 1330 Country Court, is a simple two-bedroom, two-bathroom detached ranch with unfinished basement is available right now with similar premium amenities, for an attractive $439,900.
But those are just a couple of single-family home offerings at ParkSide by Flatirons Homes. All premium homes come with other special touches, such as designer interior paint colors, extra-wide baseboards, five-panel Shaker-style doors and granite counters with undermounted sinks. Better yet? Homebuyers are invited to work with an expert at Flatirons Homes’ design center to select their favorite interior finishes.
Buyers can also count on a stainless steel refrigerator, range, and microwave. Those are standard in all Flatirons Homes. Additionally, kitchen islands or peninsulas provide ample counter space, while nine-foot ceilings and covered porches add to the feeling of a modern, open-concept living indoors and out.
Flatirons Homes are also known for energy efficiency, with average HERS ratings in the mid 50s. Equally importantly, the premium ParkSide lots orient East-West, which means beautiful unobstructed sunrise views.
Downsized living, lower maintenance options
But you don’t have to go premium to enjoy the benefits of this quiet, park-oriented community. Whether you’re a busy family with little time for yard work or a retiree who’s looking to offload exterior upkeep, Flatirons Homes’ smaller lots make for great low-maintenance living.
These homes come in ranch and two-story plans and all have a basements, finished or unfinished. Additionally, a Flatirons Homes ranch can be built as a two-, three-, or four-bedroom single-family home.
While they’re not on the park, Flatirons Homes’ smaller lots have their own pre-landscaped outdoor space. And with HOA-maintained walkways, or paseos, running throughout the community, you’re never far from the communal open spaces at ParkSide. In fact, it’s the best of both worlds: access to open space with out the headaches of a large yard. Going even lower maintenance, buyers can also select from five remaining townhome-style condominiums at ParkSide, too.
Anchored by open space
It’s not surprising that one of the biggest draws at South Longmont’s ParkSide community is the beautiful five-acre park. “The park is something everyone raves about and something you see people enjoying on a daily basis,” says Cauley Kim, sales manager for Flatirons Homes.
The park has a paved looping walkway, which community members use to walk and where kids ride bikes. “People also have picnics, fly kites, play soccer, build snowmen, read books, and do yoga in the park,” says Kim.
“I’ve seen it all!”
The park seems to pull people together, too. ParkSide homeowners range from young first-time buyers to seniors looking for a single-level, low-maintenance forever homes. “ParkSide has become a wonderful community with wonderful relationship-building between neighbors,” Kim says. “People often tell me how much they enjoy the neighborhood’s proximity to the recreation center and museum, as well.” There’s also access to the St. Vrain trail system, where ParkSide residents head to walk, bike or run.
Of course, The Village at the Peaks mall, Hover Road’s big box stores, Lucky’s Market and Whole Foods, plus restaurants and parks in Prospect New Town are also conveniently nearby. For commuters, ParkSide is roughly 20 minutes from Boulder, Louisville, or Lafayette; another five minutes to Lyons; and 40 to 45 minutes to downtown Denver and DIA. There are also multiple bus stops in the neighborhood.
But mostly people in ParkSide love coming home. There’s a rich sense of community here. Throughout the year, the neighborhood gathers for fun events like a food truck visits, ice cream socials and hot dog roasts. “People walk each other’s dogs, help shovel each other’s driveways, and older kids babysit younger kids,” Kim says. “It’s the kind of place where you can still borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbor.”
