BOULDER (May 20)– Thistle Community Housing (Thistle) announced today a new partnership with Esusu, the leading financial technology company leveraging rent reporting for credit-building, to make Esusu’s rent reporting platform available to Thistle’s Family of Affordable Renters, nearly 600 individuals and families.

Esusu reports on-time rent payments to the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Transunion, and Experian) to establish and boost credit scores for residents, and those with a positive rental payment history could see immediate results as the platform has an automatic 24-month look-back feature. The partnership would also allow residents the opportunity to access Esusu’s 0% rent stability program, which helps those at risk of missing a rental payment.

“Our Vision at Thistle is to assist moderate and lower-income individuals and families by developing a pipeline of affordable rental and homeownership housing and creating economic opportunities and wealth building for all residents in Boulder County. Esusu is helping us achieve this vision,” said Paul D’Angelo, CEO at Thistle.

“This partnership with Thistle is designed to help residents across the country build healthier financial futures through rent reporting,” said Samir Goel and Wemimo Abbey, co-founders and co-CEOs of Esusu. “Thistle’s commitment to economic opportunity for their residents, who Thistle sees as partners, made them a natural partner in our mission to create equitable financial access for everyone.”

In addition to earning credit improvement, renters will have access to the Esusu Renters Marketplace, where they have the opportunity to access other financial literacy and credit education courses to help support their path to financial independence and success.  Thistle has also added a Resource Section on their website, including a Future Homeownership Guide, to help interested individuals and families achieve their dream of affordable homeownership. thistlecommunityhousing.org/resident-resources
