Business to double agents and add additional Denver offices in 2016
DENVER – Windermere 5280 celebrated its second annual Forecast Event on Thursday, January 21 at the Lone Tree Arts Center. The event included presentations from Windermere Colorado President Eric Thompson and Matthew Gardner, Windermere’s chief economist. With rents rising and new home starts at only half of what they were in 2005, it continues to be a great time to buy and sell.
“What a great event to celebrate the growth of Windermere 5280, as well as address questions from Denver buyers and sellers about the ‘real estate bubble,’” Thompson said. “What we see from our experience, as well as data from trusted sources like the Federal Housing Finance Agency, is Colorado has not experienced detrimental financial swings, even in the worst of times. One of the worst years in real estate history was 2008 and even then our market only saw a two percent drop, other markets like Phoenix experienced as much as a 22 percent drop.”
Topics also included the nation’s economy and its impact on the Colorado housing market, as well as key trends in Denver such as home values, best-selling neighborhoods, and growth predictions. Also in attendance at the forecast were Windermere Real Estate CEO, Geoff Wood, and Co-Presidents, OB Jacobi and Jill Jacobi Wood from Seattle, Wash.
With an industry average of 26 days to contract, Windermere 5280 leads Denver agencies with closings in 15 days, 42 percent faster and at 100.25 percent of asking price. Michael Zak, broker/owner at Windermere Real Estate 5280, has exceeded expectations with the opening of two office locations in Denver and plans to add an additional 15 to 20 agents in 2016.
“Denver is a great place to live, work and play, said Zak. “We are incredibly fortunate to have a team of agents that are equally as excited about the future of Denver real estate, as well as Windermere’s expansion in the south metro area.”
