BOULDER – If you are looking for reasons to love living in Boulder even more, you don’t have to look far.
Over the past years, Boulder has garnered a growing list of top rankings on ‘Best Of’ lists. Now, in January alone, another five accolades rolled in.
Boulder ranked among the ‘best of’ on five different lists of places to live, work and visit.
Here’s the rundown:
No. 1 – Best Colorado School District. Boulder Valley School District ranked top school district in Colorado for 2017, according to Niche.com. Rounding out the top five are Aspen School District, Cheyenne Mountain School District No. 12, located in the Southwest corner of Colorado Springs, Cherry Creek School District, and Littleton Public Schools. No. 1 – Best College Town. Students at University of Colorado Boulder know Boulder is a great place to go to school, and now readers nationwide of the American Institute of Economic Research know it, too. Reasons include perfect weather, wonderful open space with creeks, trails and mountain, fit citizens and a great bar and restaurant scene complete with fair trade coffee and microbreweries. And, here’s the topper for graduating students: Boulder has favorable labor markets and high innovation levels, spurred in part by the CU-Boulder campus. No. 1 – Best City for Small Business. Boulder is top dog when it comes to a location for small businesses and Fort Collins is No. 2, according to analysis done by PenguinValue.com. Standings are determined by analyzing tax-related factors and economic and business environments. No. 2 – City with the Most Microbreweries. Boulder has some tough competition in this category, since nationwide more breweries and brewpubs operate than at any point in the past century, according to SmartAsset. Analysts at the financial site looked at the number of microbreweries per 100,000 residents. Boulder landed the No. 2 position with 21.9 breweries per 100,000, second to Portland, Maine. Third on the list is Asheville, NC. No. 8 – Places You Must Visit in 2017. Travel site Expedia lists Boulder No. 8 as a place to visit this year, characterizing the locale as a place where “nature meets nurture in this rustic city, where the Rocky Mountains merge with the Great Plains.” Boulder’s eighth place is preceded by awesome and unexpected places such as Natchez, MS; Newport, RI; St. Joseph, MO; and Atlantic City, NJ.
